Once upon a holiday, with dreams still dancing in the kids’ heads,
their parents enjoyed a quiet morning when one turned to the other and said:
“A day like today calls for breakfast in bed.”
With a tug of the curtain, the parents then revealed
a crisp, snowy morning framed by the window, peacefully still.
From height of The Grand’s tower they could see the Wasatch Mountains all around—
the white Christmas they’d hoped for, and finally found.
When room service knocked and the kids slowly waked,
the family broke bread—French croissants—freshly baked.
After everyone was dressed, shoes tied, and teeth brushed,
they leisurely descended, not even the family slow-poke felt rushed.
The lobby was draped in Christmas magic only The Grand could supply,
the glimmering trees almost brought tears to one parent’s eyes.
But, wait, through the windows, the kids spotted just outside
another tree towering over the Courtyard, unmatched in size.
After kicking up snow drifts…and forming a snowball or two…
the family cozied up at Bonne Vie for hot cocoa and macaroons.
Though this day spent together was already full of delight,
the first of several intricate Window Displays came into sight.
Each window lit up, with Holiday scenes moving about,
kids and parents both knew this was special, beyond any doubt.
Further along, among the Windows, the kids were the first to spy
a gingerbread house so gigantic, they could’ve walked right inside.
At the end of their tour, the family made a few important stops
to The Shops at The Grand for special treats like gourmet popcorn to pop.
With armfuls of goodies, back up to their room the family went
to snuggle up for a Christmas movie, more quality time well spent.
As the kids started dozing, the parents began to make plans
for another day celebrating their holidays together at The Grand.
